Carol and
Peter Jolly, Jolly's Mini-Circus, Fishguard, 1974.
As Carol and Peter were the only performers in their circus (it really was
a mini-circus), they did everything between them. They put the tent up, looked
after the animals, took it in turns performing in the ring and then packed
everything away. Peter has done clowning, juggling, fire-eating, balancing
and, in his words, "trained most animals known". Carol did a dog
act, a pigeon act, acrobatics, high wire, trapeze, and showed ponies. Fortunately
they now have four children to help them.
